A few days ago, I wrote an answer to a question I am frequently asked: “Why do you like Disneyland?”
An old friend of mine, Jeff Dlouhy, told me that it reminded him of “Disneyland Is Good For You,” a 1978 piece from the now-retired New West magazine. John Hench gets pretty philosophical in it, which is great.
Of course, it was only ever available in print. (I read it via some scanned images.) But after I fell in love with it this morning, I decided to spend all day adapting it for the web, hopefully making it more accessible for people to read in the future.
It’s about a 20-minute read, and especially worth reading if you’re interested in design, Disneyland history, or are critical of Disneyland.
