The Sci-Fi Cast and Battlestar Galactica

The Sci-Fi Cast and Battlestar Galactica

Recently I went on The Sci-Fi Cast to share my thoughts on a TV show I previously (and unfairly) judged as being far nerdier than I could handle, but I have discovered that it is probably the best show I’ve ever seen.

I don’t watch many TV shows anymore. It’s probably more to do with the fact that I don’t have a TV in my apartment, than it is that no decent shows are on. Then again, I guess there is a lot of crap on TV these days.

In fact, the only show I actively watch is The Office (and Futurama, but unfortunately they have just released the last movie on DVD, though I will remain hopeful for the series.)

It’s not like I was looking for any new shows to eat up all of my free time, but it struck me that I must be missing out on something great if just about everyone at work is watching Battlestar Galactica. If you follow me on Twitter, you might already know this story.

A few weeks ago, I thought I might take up the idea of watching Battlestar Galactica, but I realized that the show was just nearing its end. That’s when I had this crazy idea that I could do a full catch-up on all the episodes and watch the few final ones as they air. I didn’t have much time, as there were only about seven episodes remaining in the fourth season, but I thought it’d be a fun challenge.

Originally I had planned to watch everything before the next episode aired. That’s a mere one week to watch a miniseries, three and a half seasons, and a TV movie. I thought I could do it, but when it took me the weekend to watch the miniseries, I realized it couldn’t happen. It’s too bad, ’cause I had a pizza bet going for me.

I figured I’d just watch them as often as I could, and I ended up watching about 3-6 episodes every day, which was great because it was like watching a really awesome movie EVERY NIGHT. I was spoiled, but it was fantastic. Battlestar Galactica is without a doubt the most amazing TV show I have ever watched.

After I had finished the series, in just a little under three weeks, I was invited by The Sci-Fi Cast to share my thoughts about Battlestar Galactica with Ged and Jen. If you’re even the slightest bit curious on my thoughts as a new watcher or if you’re just a big sci-fi geek like the rest of us, go check it out.

WARNING: If you are not fully caught up with Battlestar Galactica, I do not recommend listening to the podcast. Consider this your official spoiler alert.
